Kids-friendly Harry Potter fame pumpkin juice with minimal ingredients! Here comes my easy pumpkin juice recipe.
In 2020, we had a Harry Potter-themed birthday party for the kiddo, and that’s when I explored Harry Potter fame recipes like butterbeer, pumpkin juice, etc. Last year, I shared the butterbeer recipe, but I took my sweet time to post this pumpkin juice recipe. Finally, it’s here right on time for Halloween.
If you are looking for a non-alcoholic, kid-friendly beverage, you are in the right place. Whether it is for a Halloween party or a Fall get-together, a Harry Potter-themed birthday party, or any party, this pumpkin juice is definitely a crowd pleaser and a big winner among kids.
When exploring the butterbeer recipe, I came across the pumpkin juice recipe as well (referred mainly here and here ), but most of the recipes called for apple cider and other fruit nectars as the base, and I tried few variations, but finally, we liked the one with apple juice which is relatively easy to source as well.
This pumpkin juice is a semi-homemade recipe. While you can make apple juice and pumpkin puree at home, I went with store-bought ones. Once you have the ingredients ready, you can whip this up in less than 10 minutes.
Ingredients required
It’s the most straightforward recipe with readily available ingredients but a delicious one for sure. There is no set measurement for this recipe. Adjust according to your taste preference.
The ratio that I followed: For one cup of apple juice, I went with 2 tbsp of pumpkin puree, ⅛ tsp of pumpkin pie spice, ⅛ tsp of vanilla essence.
Pumpkin puree: It’s the key ingredient, and you can use a homemade one or a store-bought one. I used store-bought pumpkin puree for this recipe. Note that we are using pumpkin puree, not the pumpkin pie filling here.
Apple juice: I used store-bought apple juice with no added sugar. You can use a combination of apple juice and apple cider or apple cider alone. If you can source fresh apple cider, opt for that or use homemade apple cider. I did not use any other juices.
Pumpkin pie spice: Another key ingredient that enhances the flavor of this recipe. If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, you can make your own too. I am linking Pioneer women’s recipe for the homemade pumpkin pie spice.
Vanilla extract: It’s an optional ingredient but adds flavor.
Sugar: Depending upon the sweetness of the apple juice, adjust the sugar. Brown sugar works well in this recipe. But you can use the sweetener of your choice.
Dietary specifications and serving suggestions
It’s a vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free recipe making it perfect for all. We love it chilled. If you are planning to add ice cubes, add them just before serving. So far, I have stored the juice only for two days as we finish it immediately.
