Wishing you all a very happy, safe and prosperous Diwali / Deepavali.
This is going to be Non-Recipe update post :-) First things first. Got a chance to review this great books My Mother’s Kitchen : a novel with recipes by Meera Klein for IMC. An amazing book which took me to my childhood days. And they have a kindle copy give away too.
I celebrated my diwali today. But this year its going to be 4 day diwali for me. Tomorrow couple of my friends have invited for Lakshmi pooja and friday and saturday we have diwali parties. So food and sweets are going to be there till saturday. I wish I could take off tomorrow but I can’t :-(
So what I prepared? Went with easy ones this time. Tried my kaara bhoondi and badam leda. But added a list twist to it. Just added food colors and tried making diya shapes. Here is what I did,
- Separated the peda mix in the ratio of ¾ and ¼.
- Added brown food color to the ¾ ratio and orange color to ¼ ratio.
- Make the base with brown mix and the light with the orange mix and stick them together.
- Badam peda mix is very easy to handle, so you can make any shape peda.
Our decorations :-) Can you see our scare crows thats for halloween :-)
So hows your diwali going on??
