Yes, you heard it right – curry leaves. Err I didn’t have mint at home, so I went with cilantro and coriander. And guess what, it tasted great. :-) So here is my simple green chutney recipe.

You may wonder why I am posting sweet chutney and green chutney without any other main recipe. The main recipe is coming next. It is a great sodappal story, and it happened on Vinayaka Chaturthi. Oh yeah, no stress right. :-)

But luckily I was able to do a fixer-upper for my sodappal dish. For that I need this sweet and green chutney and so here is what I did.

    Chutney Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • Cilantro – 1 bunch cleaned
    • Curry leaves – 2 strands
    • Green chilly – 2 (Hubby got this purple chilly from local farm, you can use the regular ones)
    • Small piece of ginger
    • Salt – ¼ tsp
    • Cumin powder – 1 tsp
    •  Water – ½ cup

    Steps:

    • Wash the cilantro and curry leaves.
    • Just blend them together by adding ½ cup of water.

That’s it. Yummy green chutney is ready. You can find the dates and tamarind chutney here. :-)

Adjust the water according to your consistency.
