A refreshing mocktail with cranberry juice, ginger ale, and blackcurrant juice! A perfect non-alcoholic drink to jazz up the holiday spread!
Parties and potlucks are incomplete without beverages. While you can serve fruit juices and sodas, I prefer fruit punches and mocktails. Be it tea mocktails or seasonal fruit-based lemonades; I love them all. It adds that personal touch and love.
Call this drink a mocktail or fruit punch, this vibrant and refreshing drink made with ginger ale, cranberry juice, and blackcurrant juice concentrate is perfect for this holiday brunch or lunch. In less than 2 minutes, you can prepare this mocktail. That’s all you need. The only time-consuming part is crushing the fresh cranberries. It’s that effortless recipe.
Why blackcurrant juice?
As I mentioned in my blackcurrant popsicle post, my colleague introduced me to this black currant syrup, and I immediately fell in love with it. We love sweet and tangy flavors, and this drink is all about that with that fizz from ginger ale.
I usually keep a stock of black currant (I see the usage of black currant and blackcurrant, with and without space) juice concentrate, and during summers, I use them for my tea mocktails or popsicles.
Note– While this juice is known for its Vitamin C, it also contains added sugar or atleast the brand that I used. So use it cautiously.
During 2020 Thanksgiving, I had some blackcurrant juice and made this ginger ale mocktail, which was a huge hit. I missed sharing it for last Christmas and this Thanksgiving too. But I finally got a chance to share it now, right before Christmas. Be it for your Xmas party or New years party, do give this drink a try; I am sure you will all love it.
Ingredients required
You need a handful of ingredients for this recipe.
- Fresh cranberries and unsweetened cranberry juice
- Ginger ale
- Black currant juice concentrate. You can also replace this with orange juice or grape juice or apple juice. Of course, the taste differs, but that’s an option too. You can skip the black currant juice altogether.
- Lemon/lime slices.
Note: The black currant juice had added sugar, and I didn’t have to add additional sugar with ginger ale and cranberry juice. But if needed, add sugar to taste.
How to make cranberry ginger ale mocktail
- Add the cranberry juice, ginger ale, and blackcurrant juice to a glass pitcher. Add the crushed cranberries too.
- Stir, serve chilled with lemon slices, and enjoy!
Recipe notes
- I did not use any ice cubes. I used cold juice and ginger ale. You can add the ice cubes just before serving.
- There is no set measure for this recipe; adjust the proportions to paste.
- The above measure serves three; you can double or triple the measures.
- Instead of blackcurrant juice, you can use orange juice too. Make sure to use unsweetened cranberry juice.
