Vegetable Bread Pizza with tomato-pesto sauce, vegetables and cheese is a semi-homemade recipe prepared with bread as a pizza base.
Semi-Homemade Pizza
After posting two homemade pizzas from scratch, today I am going to share an easy peasy semi-homemade pizza (errr you can make this from scratch as well) prepared with bread. It’s the bread pizza topped with tomato-pesto sauce, vegetables and of course cheese. This bread pizza is a perfect after-school snack, or if you ask me, I would say its a ideal dinner/lunch too.
When time is pressing or if you are too tired to prepare pizza from scratch this is one of the best bet. You can make this recipe either as a semi-homemade or completely homemade also. I went with store-bought ingredients for this recipe, but here are the links for preparing the same at home.
Quick and Easy
You need just 20 minutes (including the baking time) to whip this recipe. The prep-work involves vegetable chopping and assembling. Just spread the sauce, your favorite toppings, cheese, and bake. Boom You are done. Like any other pizzas, the sky is the limit for topping and sauce options. You can get creative and mix and match your favorite sauce, toppings, etc.
You can use the pesto pizza, shahi paneer pizza, mushroom pizza topping on this bread pizza too. For this recipe, I mix pesto and tomato basil sauce. That’s our favorite combination now, and I use this our pasta as well. :-)
Here comes my version of Bread Pizza and check out the quick video preparation of the same. Subscribe to my youtube channel and stay tuned for the new recipes.
Vegetable Bread Pizza Recipe
A semi-homemade recipe prepared with bread as a pizza base. It’s the Vegetarian bread pizza topped with tomato-pesto sauce, vegetables, and cheese.
Ingredients:
- Bread Slices – 5
- Pesto – 1 tbsp
- Tomato-Basil Sauce – ⅓ cup
- Grated Mozzarella – ¼ cup or as required
Vegetables of your choice: I used:
- Chopped Onion – 2 tbsp
- Mini colored bell peppers – 2
- Brown mushrooms – 2
- Olives – 8
Prep-Work:
- Chop all the veggies and set aside.
- Mix the tomato basil sauce and pesto. Combine them nicely.
- Pre-heat the oven to 400 deg F.
- Line a baking tray with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
Steps:
- Place the bread slices on the baking tray.
- Spread the tomato-pesto sauce even on each slice.
- Then add the vegetables one by one on all the slices.
- Finally, add the grated cheese on top.
- Bake this at 400 deg F for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cheese melts.
Let it cool a bit and serve hot.
Notes:
- You can add any veggies of your choice.
- The same goes for the sauce too. You can Butternut Squash pasta sauce or any paneer gravies instead of regular pizza sauce.
- I did not add any salt and pepper but served with red chili flakes. But you can add and adjust the spice/salt as per your preference.
