Here is a refreshing semi-homemade popsicle with black currant concentrate and with a hint of fresh mango and lychee.
Are you ready to slurp and relish a dairy-free dessert?
I am back with another popsicle recipe, and this time it is a semi-homemade popsicle with black currant concentrate/syrup. It is very similar to my kala khatta popsicle and rose syrup popsicles.
All we have to do is dilute the concentrate with water and freeze. I added additional sugar to balance the tangy flavor and also some fresh fruits.
Kala Khatta popsicle became a huge hit, and I thought, why not to try popsicles with other fruit concentrates. My colleague introduced me to this black currant syrup, and I immediately fell in love with it. Ok, I love sweet and tangy flavors. And luckily my family likes it as well. So these popsicles are becoming a regular fare in our household.
When it comes to these semi-homemade popsicles, you can play the combinations and come up with your favorite concoction. I have tried mixing pomegranate concentrate in this popsicle and other fruits as well.
Fruits add a nice texture to the popsicle. I add fruits that are available on my pantry, and this time it is mango and lychee. The refreshing flavors intensify the flavor of this popsicle.
As I mentioned before, I used store-bought syrup for this recipe. The instructions in the syrup asked to mix 1 part of the syrup with four parts of the water. But I mixed it with three parts of water and added sugar. Please adjust the proportion as per your preference and also see the instructions and adjust accordingly.

How to make black currant popsicles-
- Mix the water and the black currant concentrate and then add the sugar and whisk them well till the sugar dissolves.
- Now pour this black currant mix in your favorite mold and add the mango and lychee into the molds. Add them evenly. Then freeze them until set or for atleast 4 to 6 hours.
- To easily remove it from the mold, let it sit on a bowl filled with water for 20 to 30 seconds and slowly take them out. Alternatively, you can run the popsicle mold in the tap water and take them out slowly.
- That’s it. Yummy black currant popsicles are ready.
- Slurp and Enjoy!!!!
